The UK VIP Reviewer at Crimson Education is dedicated to enhancing the quality of students' personal statements for applications to top UK universities, particularly Oxbridge and Russell Group institutions. This role involves providing high-level, detailed written feedback, helping students articulate their strengths, achievements, and unique experiences effectively. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in university admissions, preferably within Oxbridge or Russell Group universities, and possess exceptional writing and editing skills. With a deep understanding of competitive admissions processes and a passion for student success, the VIP Reviewer will play a crucial role in shaping compelling and impactful personal statements that stand out in the admissions process.

This is a part-time position, that can be worked remotely.

VIP reviewers must have good availability to take on a large number of reviews during the submission periods:

12th August- 9th September 2024

4th November- 16th December 2024

What are the main responsibilities for this role?

  • Provide high-level, detailed written feedback on students' personal statements to enhance their applications to top UK universities.
  • Assess personal statements for content, structure, clarity, and overall impact, ensuring they meet the standards of competitive admissions processes.
  • Offer strategic advice to help students highlight their strengths, achievements, and unique experiences effectively.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest admissions trends and requirements of Oxbridge and Russell Group universities to provide relevant and current advice.
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality in handling students' personal information and application materials.
  • Participate in Crimson Education’s training to stay aligned with our goals, methodologies and technology developments.

 

What skills and experience are required?

    • A minimum of an advanced degree (master's or doctoral level) is required from Oxbridge or a Russell Group university
    • Significant experience in university admissions, preferably within Oxbridge or a Russell Group university or an equivalent institution.
    • Deep understanding of the admissions criteria, processes, and expectations of top UK universities.
    • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to provide constructive, actionable feedback.
    • Strong analytical skills to evaluate the effectiveness of personal statements and suggest improvements.
    • Excellent written communication skills to convey feedback clearly and persuasively.
    • Ability to manage multiple reviews simultaneously and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
    • A commitment to helping students achieve their educational goals and succeed in competitive admissions processes.
